Being a DJ for a wedding, party, and event means that you are the music expert and the person in charge of getting guests onto the dance floor. It's always best practice to find out from the hosts of the event, beforehand, which songs they want to hear during their event and which songs they have on their "must play" list.
Often times a host may rely on the opinion of the DJ for song recommendations and to help spark their ideas for what songs that should be played for their event. As the DJ, your primary goal is to get the guests at any event onto the dance floor and to keep them out there. It is even more important to play all the songs requested by the hosts of an event and prioritize their requests over yours, and over the requests of the guests at their event. Here is a list of songs that some are the most recognizable, more recent, songs that are gaurenteed to get guests onto the dance floor and keep them there (in no particular order): "Uptown Funk" - Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars "Hot To Go" - Chappell Roan "Rolling in the Deep" - Adele "I Gotta Feeling" - The Black Eyed Peas "Poker Face" - Lady Gaga "Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift "Low" - Flo Rida featuring T-Pain "Happy" - Pharrell Williams "Moves Like Jagger" - Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera "Party in the U.S.A." - Miley Cyrus "Party Rock Anthem" - LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock "Lose Yourself" - Eminem "24K Magic" - Bruno Mars "Fireball" - Pitbull featuring John Ryan "Suavemente" - Elvis Crespo "Radioactive" - Imagine Dragons "Mr. Brightside" - The Killers "Tik Tok" - Kesha "Not Like Us" - Kendrick Lamar "Blurred Lines" - Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams "Sexy and I Know It" - LMFAO "Get The Party Started" - P!nk "Juice" - Lizzo "Shut Up And Dance" - WALK THE MOON "Hey Ya" - Outkast "Get Lucky" - Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers "Tití Me Preguntó" - Bad Bunny "Feel So Close" - Calvin Harris "Everytime We Touch" - Cascada "Gangnam Style" - PSY

"There Must Be More to Life Than This" is the eighth track on Queen lead vocalist Freddie Mercury's debut solo album Mr. Bad Guy, released in 1985.
The song was originally intended for Queen for 1982's Hot Space, but failed to make the cut for the album's release. Previously the single was recorded as a duet between Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson, along with two other songs: "State of Shock", which was later re-recorded with Mick Jagger for the Jacksons' 1984 album Victory, and ironically a song titled "Victory", which remains unreleased. Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson's version was slated for release on Michael Jackson's album "Thriller". However Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson's duet was scrapped after a disagreement over Michael's that one or more of his pets be allowed to attend recording sessions. This unusual request startled Freddie, leading him to contact his agent. According to manager Jim Beach, Mercury told him "Can you get me out of here. I'm recording with a llama." After a few days Freddie quit the recording session, stating "I'm not performing with a fucking chimp sitting next to me each night." In addition to Mercury's frustrations, Jackson wasn't keen on Mercury's recreational drug use during their recording sessions. Mercury returned to London soon after and the original duet track remains unfinished. Mercury died in 1991, Jackson died in 2009. In 2014, a version of "There Must Be More to Life Than This" was released on Queen Forever, and was produced and mixed by William Orbit. |
